NEW HAVEN POLICE AWARDED $140K GRANT FOR INCREASED DUI ENFORCEMENT
(11/20/2008) NEW HAVEN- The New Haven Police Department has received a grant through the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) to help combat impaired driving. The DOT's Transportation Safety Section has approved over $140,000 in DUI enforcement funding for the City of New Haven. The funding will be used to staff additional patrols and sobriety checkpoints through September 2009. So far this year, over 300 DUI arrests have been made in New Haven.
